117.994 Medical Smart Cards:
MSSNY will urge the American Medical Association to study and develop a “white paper” on the issue of medical smart cards and aligned technology, including the role of organized medicine in smart card development, the emergence of regional health information organizations (RHIOs), the opportunity for State and Specialty Societies to obtain grants to educate and inform members of opportunities in this and similar emerging technology and to enumerate the implications which these technologies have for physicians, patients and healthcare, in general.
