125.986 Requesting New York State Eliminate Item 12 of DOH 405/9 Guideline Admission/Discharge
That the Medical Society of the State of New York will advocate for a change to the NYS DOH 405.9 guideline by deleting item 12 (i) “Such examination shall include a screening uterine cytology smear on women 21 years of age and over, unless such test is medically contraindicated or has been performed within the previous three years, and palpation of breast, unless medically contraindicated, for all women over 21 years of age. These examinations shall be recorded in the medical record. (HOD 2024 – 158)
