207.930        Consideration in Scheduling MSSNY Virtual Meetings to Accommodate Religious Observance

The Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) is strengthened by its diverse community that MSSNY will demonstrate sensitivity to religious and ethnic inclusion, the varied and diverse religious and ethnic backgrounds of its members and will update MSSNY Position Statement 207.933 adopted at the 2024 MSSNY HOD by addition of the underlined words: “MSSNY will build upon existing efforts to schedule virtual HOD Reference Committee meetings, in-person and virtual committee, Section and Council meetings, Educational Forums and any other meetings and conferences at times that do not overlap with religious observance” as religious faith and practice are recurring events with known days of observance that affect an entire subset of MSSNY members and the dates of observance cannot be moved, changed or rescheduled.
