260.965           Request to Medical Society of the State of New York to Advocate for a Ban on Marketing Ultra-processed Foods and Sweetened Beverages to Children

The Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) to advocate for legislation that bans the marketing of ultra-processed foods and sweetened beverages directed at children in New York State, and engage with relevant stakeholders, including government officials public health organizations and community groups to promote awareness of the detrimental effects of ultra-processed foods and sweetened beverages marketing on children and to support initiatives that encourage healthy eating habits among youth. A copy of this resolution should be spent to appropriate government agencies and stakeholders to urge prompt action on this critical health issue. (Council 3/9/26).
