265.975           Inappropriate Usage Of Correct Coding Initiative and HBOC Software By Medicare:

MSSNY will oppose the reduction of payment for medical services under Medicare without notice or the publication of regulations, including the continuing expansion of the Correct Coding Initiative (CCI) in concert with the “Black Box” edits produced by HBOC Software.  MSSNY will communicate its objection to the reduction of payments for services by the continuous expansion of the CCI in conjunction with HBOC Software directly to HCFA and through its representatives on the New York Medicare Carrier Advisory Committee and the American Medical Association.  MSSNY will instruct its Delegates to the American Medical Association House of Delegates to introduce a resolution at its next meeting asking the AMA to take all necessary steps to prevent the continuation of the reduction in payments or medical services under Medicare by inappropriate usage of the CCI and the HBOC Software or any equivalent process without notice to or comment by the public or Medical profession.  (HOD 1999-256; Reaffirmed HOD 2000-268; HOD 2003-268 & 278 and HOD 2005-276; Reaffirmed HOD 2015; Reaffirmed HOD 2025)
