MSSNY should advocate for the immediate development of a multidisciplinary taskforce including representation of MSSNY, Health Insurers, DFS, NY State Police Computer Crime Unit, the FBI, and other pertinent stakeholders to prevent future healthcare cyberattacks in NY and to increase the apprehension of Cybercriminals who prey on patients and Healthcare entities and recommend appropriate penalties for their crimes. MSSNY through its representation in the AMA, will encourage the AMA to advocate for similar action at the federal level. increased Federal penalties for and prevention efforts against Healthcare Criminals who commit interstate and international cybercrimes.
