85.934 Ensuring Physician-Led Training for Medical Students and Residents
MSSNY advocate for ensuring and preserving physician-led model of education of medical students and resident physicians in all educational settings, and petition relevant organizations (such as the LCME, COCA, and ACGME) to discourage medical schools and physician residency programs from having non-physicians, such as Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Physician Assistants (PAs), serve in a primary teaching capacity to medical students and residents, especially in clinical rotations. MSSNY petition relevant organizations (such as the LCME, COCA and ACGME) to encourage medical schools and physician residency programs to have sufficient learner to physician faculty ratios on staff to adequately support the educational needs of their medical students and residents for each specialty.
