87.989 Mandating Emergency Department Patient Management
The Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) will create a position statement to be sent to the New York State Department of Health and Office of Mental Health which calls for engagement with relevant stakeholders including designees from bodies who represent Emergency Medicine providers, whenever mandates or regulations appertaining to ED operations are being considered. (HOD 2024 – 113)
MSSNY position statement request that with any new mandates or regulations, there be appendant provision of resources and/or funding to the Emergency Departments sufficient for compliance.
