95.900          Medicare Advantage is misleading, as it is not advantageous to patients, to physicians and providers who care for them, and to medical institutions

The Medical Society of the State of New York urges the American Medical Association to emphasize to Congress the excessive cost, the use of taxpayer funding, the depletion of taxpayer monies supporting traditional Medicare by the Medicare Advantage (MA) programs. These programs are wasteful and even dangerous to patients. These plans are harmful to physician provider practice, working in the interest of profits rather than patient care. In addition, representatives who are paid by the insurance companies should not be enrolling people in Medicare Advantage (MA) and all representations for MA should include the risks of being in MA. (HOD 2025-114)
